about
ABBY HRICIK (she/her) leads her life with fierce curiosity and kindness.
Her Montessori education and South Carolina upbringing feed into her artistic life. Abby’s deep-rooted philosophy is to approach everything with professionalism, organization, and commitment. However, she believes life is not to be lived unquestioned — check out her NYU TEDx Talk, The Case Against 5:00PM.
Before making NYC her home, Abby made her professional acting debut at age 12 in Village Repertory Company’s dystopian production of The Nether (Iris). She attended Long Lake Camp for the Arts for six summers and has performed in over fifty stage productions. Most recently, she was Pope Joan in Caryl Churchill’s Top Girls at the Stella Adler Studio. Outside of acting, Abby has over 15 years of dance training in ballet, tap, and jazz and is a current dance company member with TAPFUSION. Her work is as varied as it is dynamic.
Abby’s design and editorial work has been recognized as some of the best in the Southeast by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, SC Scholastic Press Association, and Quill & Scroll Awards. She most recently interned at Accessories Council, assisting with Ac Magazine and NoMad Magazine publications. She served as Chief of Design of the Baedeker Travel Magazine (2024), Head Designer of the Future Fashion Group Zine for two editions (2022-2023), and published three, 200-page yearbooks with Wando High School’s nationally recognized Legend yearbook staff (2018-2021).
In 2024, Abby produced, wrote, and starred in her first experimental short film, In A Stitch, while abroad for six weeks in Madrid, Spain. She is an associate producer at Pinoy Cinematic Universe and is writer and actor in their upcoming social media comedy series, CostCutters. The company’s latest project, Mother, May I Have A Kidney, was selected as one of seven indie short series in the 2025 Tribeca NOW programming at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Additionally, Abby volunteers weekly with Literacy Partners, is a teaching artist in-training with the Stella Adler Arts Justice Division, and is a proud Ambacebador for Yerba Madre.
